i’m fairly opposed to the idea of ‘about me’ pages because i feel that what i tell someone about myself isn’t as important as what they deduce based on their interactions with me and their perceptions of me. that said, some basic info can be useful to achieve maximum clarity as to who i am and what this blog is all about.
when i first adopted the identity of ‘darknote’ it was unique on the web save for a serial crack generator. Since then, ‘darknote’ has prominence in two other places: a female korean teenager from california, and a progressive death metal band. Neither of those identities is me.
i am, however, darknote on livejournal and have been for many years. It’s become an important part of my daily life and i’ve developed so many lifelong connections because of it that i doubt i will ever abandon it. This blog isn’t meant to replace my LJ but rather to supplement it and split off my content into two parts. My LJ, now dubbed darkblog oscillate, focuses mainly on my life events with a side dish of more personal and intimate information that i can safely put behind a friends-lock. This blog, dubbed darkblog resonate, focuses mainly on my thoughts and my stream of consciousness – things i feel free to ramble on about in a way that doesn’t pollute LJ friends pages, and in a place that i can truly call my own.
